Images are powerful to all of us. This game is always a huge success between our young visitors and our members at our Umbrella Dementia Cafés. Young people are learning how to meaningfully connect with older people at our cafés, whether they lived with dementia or not. Everyone connects differently with each photo. Some photos prompt people to tell stories, sometimes laughter, and sometime tears, but there is always a connection and a better understanding of the person reminiscing about the photo. Once we incorporated pairs into the set, we created two games, snap and a matching game into the product, the photo cards could be used for all stages of dementia, not just story telling. Use 2 pairs or the whole set for the game.
