Description
The Friendship Café is our first café on the Mornington Peninsula, and while it’s hosted in a large community house, it has a cottage feel as soon as you enter the front door. The Friendship Café has a maximum of 10 couples and is supported by 8 volunteers, many of whom were members themselves and so come with valuable experience and advice on how to navigate the home or aged care system.
One of our volunteers, Bruce cared for his wife for many years before becoming a key volunteer after she passes away and is not our proactive Carers Support facilitator.
This café is certainly joyous! With all the tables pushed together, this café group do a lot of the activities together and not afraid of nostalgic games or spontaneous singing! With the Cafe Facilitator, Colleen a foster mum of kittens, we are often visited by new furry friends who just want a cuddle.
