Description
Living with dementia can bring challenges, but at Café of Connections no one faces them alone. As we’re a smaller café, we can easily adapt to the changing needs of our group, meeting weekly or fortnightly. Thanks to the cozy atmosphere of our cottage style neighbourhood house, you’ll always be welcomed with a cuppa, a friendly smile from a friend and strength to endure the toughest days.
Café of Connections has a maximum of 8 couples and is supported by 8 volunteers, many of whom have lived experiences themselves caring for someone with dementia. The majority of the members living with dementia are men, so our activities include darts, cars, sports and outside games. This group uses 3 of the 4 rooms in the cottage, so you can hear the background laughter and conversation as if you’re in your own home.
This café is perfect for people
- Who are males recently diagnosed with dementia.
- All ages and dementia types.
- Who love to play games.
- Who prefer a quieter, smaller café group, located in a residential setting, next to a public park
- Who enjoy the atmosphere of a cottage community house.

- Who live within 10kms of the Box Hill South community
Our members request that health care professionals attend by invitation only please. Brochures are very welcome.
We are very grateful to our local funding partners, Rotary Club Box Hill Central, whose support keeps our café open. Please get in touch if you’d like to support Café of Connections in 2026
