Umbrella Dementia Cafés
Umbrella Dementia Cafés operates three dementia cafes in Melbourne Victoria and two cafés on the Victorian Mornington Peninsula.
Centred on choice, connection, awareness and inclusion, each café follows the same structure but adapts to the unique culture of the community it serves. Our cafés are designed for both the person living with dementia and their family carer; our ‘members’.
Our café members help shape and participate in the café program development. Each café is run by a UDC Facilitator and a team of 8 -10 community volunteers. All with lived experience, volunteers provide valuable input into the café’s ongoing development and continuous improvement based on member feedback.
All our café programs include a peer support group for family carer members, separate from the facilitator-led social activities for people living with dementia.
New couples must register before attending.
